Freedom Spec Championship

Our finals will take place July 4th weekend in Moberly, MO.  There will be an optional social event / fun fly at Heart of America field on Friday evening.  Pilots are welcome to come hang out, check in early and fly TinyTrainers.

Qualifying Groups

The field is split into 2 groups.  Qualifying will be done in structured heats.  Heats 1-4 are group #1 and Heats 5-8 are group #2.  

 Saturday July 3rd

 9:00am -    Group 1 Qualifying

11:30am -  Group 2 Qualifying

 2:00pm -   Group 1 Qualifying

 4:30pm -   Group 2 Qualifying

 7:00pm -   Both Groups Qualifying

11:00pm - Lights Out

Sunday July 4th

11:00am - Both Groups Qualifying

3:30pm -   Sport Class Top 16 Pilot Bracket

6:00pm -   Sport Class Podium Presentation

6:30pm -   Pro Class Practice Round

7:00pm -   Pro Class Top 16 Bracket

9:30pm -   Pro Class Podium Presentation

9:40pm -   Lights Out //Fireworks!

We are targeting a total of 20 Qualifying Packs.  The heats are structured and will start whether you are here or not.  You the pilot are responsible for making sure you are in the right place at the right time. 

The primary source of current information is the Pilot Facebook Message thread so stay pealed there.  In addition, if you have questions, ask Shawn Ames directly.

The Pro Class Bracket will feature the top 16 qualifying pilots.  Sport class will feature the pilots qualified 25th-40th (16 pilots).  Pilots qualified 17th-24th and 41st and above will miss out on final brackets.

The competition track will be located in the same place as last year but we have 2 options for pilots to practice or test quads while they are not qualifying.  There will be a couple gates and flags on a baseball field about a half mile form the competition track.  In addition, there is a full track set up at Heart of America field.

These tracks are un-managed and require cooperation between the pilots participating to fly in a safe and fair manner.  You are welcome to fly either track on Saturday and Sunday during the day.  

Unlike last year, this event will be only Freedom Spec.  This way pilots can focus on the primary discipline and compete at their highest potential.  TinyTrainer racing will be causal to anyone interest in the evenings at Heart of America Field.

Unfortunately, lodging and camping are very limited in Moberly.  Our recommendation is to book your stay early if at all possible.  There is a Super 8 and Comfort Inn and both are relatively nice.   Contact the Moberly Parks and Recreation about securing a camp site in our park.
